We Care NSW is a provider of specialist Aboriginal disability services. We are a growing Not for Profit organisation that prides itself on offering quality support services to those living with a disability. Our service delivery covers children, young people and adults in the Maitland, Newcastle, Hunter and Tweed region.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

You will be person-centred in your approach to developing behaviour support plans, whilst safeguarding the dignity and quality of life of people with disability. You recognise and appreciate the uniqueness of each person and their journey. Your passion is to support others in travelling their journey with respect, dignity and care.

This role can be challenging and is equally rewarding. It requires strong communication skills and resilience. You can think quickly and solve problems while displaying cultural sensitivity. You are analytical and can develop strategies in alignment with therapeutic best practice. You will have a natural caring nature, as this is the core guiding principle of We Care NSW.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Master’s in applied Behaviour Analysis
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the area of Positive Behaviour Support and providing behaviour support to children and adults with a range of developmental and/or other disabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience with positive behaviour support practices and conducting functional behaviour assessments.
  • Demonstrated applied understanding of relevant policy and legislation relating to Behaviour Support and Restrictive Practices
  • Experience working with NDIS funded clients
