As a team leader you are responsible for the day to day functioning of the participant's program. You will mentor, supervise and lead a team of support workers providing care and support for people with high complex needs in a residential setting, ensuring a therapeutic, trauma informed approach to the daily structure of the program. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of the teams fortnightly roster.

Certificate or Diploma in Community Services or similar equivalent tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in the Community Services Disability Support Sector

Success in the role will be supported by your:

  • Previous experience as a team leader/manager or house coordinator role in residential care
  • Ability to manage challenging and confronting behaviours in a calm and consistent manner
  • Understanding of the need to provide culturally appropriate services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • Interpersonal and communication enable sensitive and effective connection with a broad range of people, cultures & abilities
  • Understanding of trauma-based behaviours and trauma informed practice and therapeutic approaches
  • Well developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Capacity to promote inclusion for people living with a disability to participate freely in the community
