Purpose of the role

  • Lead and inspire support service teams, ensuring the highest quality service provision to participants whilst creating a fun, safe and fulfilling working environments for all
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders including clients, families, and guardians
  • Provide leadership through active demonstration of high-quality care and solution focused problem solving
  • Follow all legislative requirements ensuring the health and wellbeing of the participant and team are at the forefront of all we do
  • Work with the Wellness Australia Group leadership team to provide the best possible experience for our team, the people we serve and the local communities in which we work and live in
  • Demonstrate pride in the Wellness Australia Group services and properties
  • Promotes inclusive leadership and instills equity in all that Wellness Australia Group engages in

About you

  • Demonstrated experience in inclusive leadership
  • Thorough understanding of legislation and NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework and of statutory requirements relevant to work
  • Experience working with people with complex needs
  • Sound discipline knowledge gained through experience, training or education
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Cohesive team player who can work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders
  • Excellent critical thinking and organisational skills to effectively manage competing demands
  • Demonstrates flexibility to adapt to changes in work demands and circumstances
  • Strong written and computer skills for the creation of plans, programs, reports, correspondence, and other documents
  • Positive ‘can-do’ attitude, sense of humour and a ready smile
  • Demonstrated experience in reporting and implementing processes essential
  • A belief in anything is possible and the fortitude to assist others to make that happen
  • Understanding of NDIA values and purpose
  • Aligned values with Wellness Australia Group
  • Understanding of Australian Human Rights Commission Act

Mandatory (either currently have or willing to obtain)

  • Queensland Working with Children Blue Card
  • NDIS Workers Screening Card
  • Current First Aid & CPR
  • Comply with government mandated vaccine requirements

Skills, knowledge, experience, qualifications and/or training

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or a minimum 5 years’ experience in leading teams supporting clients with a disability (physical and/or intellectual/mental health) OR with Residential youth programs OR Aged Care
  • Experience in managing challenging behaviours highly regarded
  • Nursing or allied health experience highly regarded
