About your new role…

The Facilitated Coaching and In-Person Peer Support Coordinator will coordinate the development, implementation and ongoing delivery of the Facilitated Coaching and In-Person Peer Support programs that are part of Carer Gateway Services.

This role is responsible for the ongoing implementation of the Facilitated Coaching and In-person Peer Support programs within Carer Gateway service areas, inclusive of leading and supporting a team of Coaches and Peer Facilitators to deliver the services.

Your role will ensure the Facilitated Coaching and In-person Peer Support Programs are available to all carers within the service area. You will help recruit, lead and oversee a team of Coaches and Peer Facilitators delivering programs to Carers. Monitoring and reviewing service quality and performance whilst exploring opportunities to develop the capacity for In-Person Peer Support groups to self-sustain beyond the period of facilitation offered by Gateway staff via volunteer engagement.

About you

You will be an advocate for and lead the implementation of the carer peer workforce as well as prioritising the employment of carer peers at every point. Your understanding of the caring role and demonstrated knowledge of caring roles and the impact on carers' health and wellbeing to determine support requirements will be a key element of this role.

Experience in coordinating responsive individualised support to individuals, families, young people and children with caring roles. A general knowledge of national carer policy, legislation and service landscape will be advantageous to this position but more importantly your ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including consortium partners will also be of great importance.

Pre-employment requirements

  • Certificate IV in Community Development or relative field
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating or knowledge of peer lead programs
  • Evidence of working rights within Australia such as a passport or birth certificate
  • Current valid driver's license
  • Satisfactory National Police Records Check
  • Blue Card (Current or willing to obtain prior to employment)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate: training.ndiscommission.gov.au
  • COVID Vaccination or valid medical exemption from a registered medical practitioner
