About the opportunity

Join a nationally recognised provider of Disability and Mental Heath services invested in helping people in our communities. At Wellways, Consumer Directed Services (CDS) are services which are led and funded at the individual consumer level. In this context, the consumer is empowered to direct their supports in a way which meets their individual needs and aspirations. Initiatives such as; iCare programs (Lifetime Care and Support Scheme, Dust Disease and Workers Care), private fee-paying arrangements and other disability related initiatives, create the environment in which these services are delivered.

We are looking for an experienced Support Worker who will enjoy supporting our participant with daily activities. The successful candidate preferably will be someone with flexible availability (highly desirable) and a commitment to providing a reliable and person-cantered support to our participant.

About You

You're a passionate, empathetic, and caring individual who is looking to make an invaluable positive impact on the lives of others. You relish a challenge and new experience. You're calm, collected, and resilient in the face of adversity and are looking to carry these qualities with you to the front line to start helping those in need. You are an independent, proactive thinker and worker but are also able to follow direction/s given by your managers and can work within a tight-knit team.

What do you need?

  • Certificate III or IV in Disability, Community Services or related fields (an advantage but not mandatory) or relevant experience
  • A current valid Driver's License and a registered, insured vehicle
  • Satisfactory Police Records Check [less than 12 months old]
  • NSW Working with Children Check
  • Manual handling training desirable
  • Rights to work in Australia
  • Willing to work flexible hours on a fortnightly roster
  • Availability and willingness to use personal smartphone (iPhone or Android)
  • Current First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain one
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
  • Evidence of full COVID-19 Booster vaccination or valid medical exemption
