Consumer Directed Services (CDS) refers to services which are led by and funded by individual consumers. This includes services such as the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) services, iCare, Insurances and brokers. These services provide support, care and access to services and technology for Australians with disabilities as well as their families and carers.
As the Supported Independent Living (SIL) Specialist, you will provide oversight and support to all SIL / ILO business within your region to ensure participants are supported to live a fulfilling and meaningful life in the community. You will be responsible for undertaking the role of the APO (Authorised Program Officer VIC) ensuring that all restrictive practices are reported appropriately and provide CDS staff with advice and support related to assisting CDS participants who present with behaviours of concern.
This position will be working across Wellways teams and with various external stakeholders which include the NDIA, other disability service providers, families and health professionals within the circle of participants.
