Administration Officer - Palumpa

Located within the Top End of the Northern Territory, the West Daly Regional Council (Council) covers 14,000 square kilometres and has a population of more than 3700 residents throughout the communities of Wadeye, Nganmarriyanga and Peppimenarti as well as the surrounding 33 homelands, 14 of which are serviced by Council. Wadeye is the largest remote community and the fifth largest town in the Northern Territory. We are seeking an Administration Officer to provide the provision of quality customer service and administration support to the West Daly Regional Council Palumpa office

Relocation assistance up to $1500, 6 weeks Annual Leave, Locality Allowance and heavily subsidised accommodation will come as additional benefits to the suitable candidate.

The role will work with and take day-to-day direction from the Administration Coordinator and Community Services Manager to undertake a range of administrative tasks such as (but not limited to):

  • Assist in the smooth day-to-day operations of the Palumpa office;
  • Provide administrative support for Council’s Palumpa Office including:
  • Maintaining records; drafting correspondence; filing; screen telephone calls and attend to Council office visitors; scheduling appointments and meetings; and assisting with travel arrangements.
  • Create purchase requisitions;
  • Setting up the Boardroom and conferencing facilities for booked meetings when required;
  • Review invoices, accounts and receive goods;
  • EFTPOS payments/receipts for Accounts Receivable;
  • Palumpa Store, reconciliation and verification of goods received;
  • Petty cash management and reconciliation;
  • Assist funeral arrangements for Palumpa community;
  • Payroll administration and liaison with Community Services Manager;
  • Other duties commensurate with skills and experience, as directed by the Community Services Manager.
