About the role

This is a 12 month fixed term role (parental leave).

The Manager, Health Promotion leads cohealth's internal and external health promotion programs, to support cohealth to be a more health promoting organisation and to improve the health of our communities. The role is responsible for the development, oversight and reporting on the delivery of cohealth's Health Promotion Plan. Through purposeful leadership and broad engagement, the Manger, Health Promotion will ensure health promotion is adaptive to changing needs. They will oversee a broad program of work, delivered by a large team, to deliver outcomes in funded health promotion priority areas.

Your daily duties will vary but will include:

  • Lead the implementation and review of cohealth's health promotion plan 2021-2025 in line with government priorities.
  • Confidently provide leadership to teams delivering internally and externally-focused health promotion initiatives.
  • Work in a complex environment with competing priorities to oversee the development of contemporary models of practice, aligning workforce and other resources to meet organisational health promotion priorities.
  • Provide strategic advice on how to strengthen the whole-of-organisation approach to health promotion, and implement this, driving continuous quality improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager and peers to improve the impact of the program.
  • Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with partner agencies to ensure cohealth is strategically engaged with prevention networks in Melbourne's metropolitan north and west.

What we're looking for:

  • 5 years' experience leading a high performing team, ideally in a health care environment.
  • Appropriate postgraduate qualification in Public Health or similar specialism.
  • Demonstrated experience in change management and continuous quality improvement.
  • Understanding and demonstrated experience in the delivery of programs in a primary healthcare setting, with the ability to influence in a complex environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in leading health promotion activities, including evidence of planning, implementation and evaluation.
  • All Healthcare workers in Victoria are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19, and will need to provide evidence before commencing employment with cohealth
