With over 35 years of history, experience and commitment, the WHC has grown and expanded its services to provide crisis, transitional, social and affordable housing across Sydney, the Hunter and Coffs Harbour. The WHC is a Tier 1 Community Housing Provider, registered under the National Regulatory System for Community Housing, is a company limited by guarantee and operates as a registered charity.

About the role

The Women’s Housing Company has been awarded funding under the Together Home Program – Tranche 2, to provide housing and case management services to rough sleepers, or those in temporary accommodation. This program aims to transition people into permanent housing with access to any support services. This role reports directly to the Team Leader, Homelessness Support Services.

  • Experience and knowledge of the homelessness, community housing sector and/or employment services
  • Strong case management experience and exposure to working with clients with a variety of complex needs and diverse backgrounds, including mental health, substance abuse issues
  • Demonstrate maturity, compassion and commitment
  • Demonstrate a commitment to documentation, data management and record keeping (CIMS)
  • Ability to build connections with other support providers and connect clients to appropriate support services ie local health support, training and employment
  • This is a senior level 5 position in the SCHADS Award

Essential criteria

  • Ability to work remotely and independently, be reliable, conscientious and resilient
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or comparable work experience
  • NSW Drivers licence
  • Mandatory National Criminal History Check and WWC
  • Being female is a genuine occupational requirement for this position under the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977

  • Women with a lived experience of homelessness will be highly regarded
