Women's Health In the North (WHIN) is seeking to appoint a consultant graphic designer who would be our first choice for all graphic design work required for our publications and digital resources. The consultant designer creates visual concepts, communicates ideas that engage and inform, and develops overall layout and production design. The role liaises with and implements revisions and feedback from the Communications Coordinator and other WHIN staff members to complete work in a timely manner.

EOE H191-2017 – this position is only open to females and people whose gender identity is female (referred to as ‘women’).

Expressions of interest are encouraged from women or gender diverse consultants who meet the following selection criteria:

• Can produce clean, accessible designs of infographics and resources, demonstrable through a portfolio of previous work (see examples of clean, simple WHIN designs on our website www.whin.org.au in the resources and annual reports sections
• Can work with WHIN’s Visual Style Guide and palette with additional colours that complement the WHIN palette for various projects
• Demonstrable awareness that WHIN’s visual imagery needs to reflect our diverse community in the northern metropolitan region including women and gender diverse people from migrant and refugee backgrounds, with disabilities or chronic illness, with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage, from the LGBTIQA+ community, of various age groups.
• Willingness to engage with WHIN staff about implementing suggested revisions
• Understanding and interest in health promotion, specifically women’s health including preventing violence against women, sexual and reproductive health, gender equity and wellbeing
