Exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and friendly team to help sick, injured and orphaned wildlife across Victoria
The Wildlife Victoria Emergency Response Service runs 7 days a week to assist sick, injured and orphaned wildlife. Wildlife Victoria Emergency Response Operators provide a front line emergency service and are the first point of contact for the public seeking help for wildlife in need. Emergency Response Operators take calls from the community as well as action incoming web cases; both dispatching trained wildlife rescue volunteers and providing advice to the community.
We are seeking dedicated individuals with excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for wildlife to join our Emergency Response Service. The positions require all shifts to be undertaken from Wildlife Victoria's premises in Abbotsford and comprise 4 to 5 shifts per week spanning usually 24 to 30 hours per week. Shifts commence at 6.30am. Successful candidates must be available to work some weekends and a mixture of both day and evening shifts. Positions will initially be at a casual per hourly rate with opportunity to move to a fixed part time basis.
Current or previous wildlife rescue experience and/or environmental or wildlife studies will be highly regarded for the role together with evidence of outstanding customer service skills and ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure as part of a team.
