Executive Assistant - Roses in the Ocean

Wilkinson Lowe P/L

about the organisation

Roses in the Ocean is a national not for profit organisation founded on and operating through the lens of lived experience of suicide. We exist to save lives and reduce emotional pain and we do this through informing, influencing and enhancing all aspects of suicide through lived experience.

As the lead organisation for lived experience of suicide in Australia, Roses in the Ocean (RITO) is focused on building a safe, trained and supported Lived Experience “Workforce” with the expertise and skills needed to bring the lived experience as a voice of change in all aspects of suicide prevention.

We do this through offering a range of capacity building workshops and training opportunities for people with a lived experience of suicide. All of our workshops and programs are designed to empower people to engage meaningfully in suicide prevention activity in their local communities and on Lived Experience Reference Groups, in ways that are relevant to their expertise and desired level of involvement.

We pride ourselves on successfully operating at a grass roots level within communities and at a strategic and operational level with non-government organisations, the private sector and government.

Everyone who works within Roses in the Ocean has a lived experience of suicide which is defined as ‘having experienced suicidal thoughts, survived a suicide attempt, cared for someone through suicidal crisis, or been bereaved by suicide.’

This position is based in the Head Office in Brisbane and reports directly to the CEO and GM Strategy & Policy.
