About the opportunity:

We are currently seeking a New Graduate/Early Career Speech Pathologist to join our Early Intervention & Therapy Services team, commencing in January 2022. Working remotely and from our facilities in Berwick, Cranbourne and Pakenham, this full-time ongoing position is perfect for a confident and positive graduate who wants to join an organisation who lives by their strong values to help strengthen our community.

You will deliver transdisciplinary practice through the key worker model to families of children with developmental delay and disabilities while providing specialised therapeutic support to the wider team.

As a Paediatric Speech Pathologist, you will be responsible for delivering evidence-based intervention, standardised and informal assessments and parent coaching to support families and children with expressing themselves, understanding language, fluency, feeding and social skills, including AAC prescription.

You will be supporting children and families within their natural environments, using a family centred, strengths-based and transdisciplinary approach to increase their communication and active participation in social and educational settings.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology and current registration with Speech Pathology Australia
  • Sound theoretical knowledge with a particular reference to paediatric practice 0-12 years
  • Demonstrated knowledge of typical development and common conditions such as autism spectrum disorder, Down Syndrome and global developmental delay
  • Knowledge and skill in the assessment, implementation and evaluation of therapeutic plans and services for children and families
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as working independently, including office based or remote off-site location
  • Current Victorian Drivers’ License
