Our new Koori Engagement Worker will play a key role in engaging with and making a positive difference in our Koori community especially when it comes to supporting children and families to recover from traumatic incidents so they can lead a better life.

We currently have a full-time role (1.0 FTE) based in our head office in Narre Warren. As our Koori Engagement Worker, you will represent the Koori community within the South East of Victoria and and share your cultural knowledge to support the design and implementation of our community education program. 

To be successful in this position you must identify as a member of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • At least 2 years experience within the community sector in a trauma related area;
  • Tertiary qualifications in social work, social welfare or relevant and related discipline;
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of Koori culture and sensitivities;
  • A solid understanding of trauma informed case management practice and the impacts of violent crime on the individual, families and community.
