Board Members x2 (Voluntary) - Flexible location

Windsor Group

Did you know that in an ‘average’ year an Australian child is abused or put at risk every eleven minutes. Every eleven minutes!

In the late 1980’s, figures like this prompted concerted action by a number of pro-active, caring individuals who recognised an urgent need to combat growing child abuse and neglect in communities across Australia. The result was the inauguration of this crucial non-profit child protection organisation.

Thirty something years on, it’s not unusual for this ethical charity to help around 50,000 children, parents and carers in the course of a single year. This national committed enterprise has planned expansion and growth across New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia in the near future.

But, with the appointment last year of an extremely competent and courageous new CEO, its growth is in safe hands. In a business that is well-resourced and financially resilient, Board and Management share an exceptional culture with a healthy mutual respect for ingenuity, ideas, innovation and continual improvement.

It is a great synergistic leadership group, with the Board providing strategic guidance and an amazing team of can-do professionals putting plans and programs into action.

This extremely progressive and flexible organisation is determined to promote diversity on its Board. Of particular (although not exclusive) interest will be suitable candidates who represent ethnic, Indigenous or other types of communities. Exposure (not necessarily experience) to charitable social enterprise and non-profit service provision is important.

And if you can add to that, any of the following...

  • a strong grasp of governance or actual Board experience
  • a developed aptitude for technology and how it might be used to improve service delivery
  • a background in leading teams through the ‘top end’ of the corporate world
  • wide knowledge, contacts and influence across government
  • a consummate appreciation of commercial business
  • or any special expertise/experience that you believe could further the essential mission of this committed child protection enterprise

then, please let us hear from you.

Some meetings and workshops will necessitate your physical presence in Brisbane, but you can be based anywhere (appropriate expenses will be paid). So, for a very short time the Boardroom door at this exceptional national children’s charity stands open. Check it out and then write a covering letter that convinces us that one of the seats around the Boardroom table should be reserved for you!

If you are interested in these vacancies, please submit your cover letter and resume as soon as possible quoting reference DB2BRD or phone Dylys Bertelsen or Nicola Manson on 07 3211 0001.
