Improving lives today for the promise of a better tomorrow…

Dedicated to finding new and clever ways of helping people living with disabilities to achieve goals, find independence, build community connections and live a more enriched life, this vibrant NFP will celebrate fifty years of business in 2022.

A unique, for-purpose social enterprise, managed by hands-on thinkers, it has built a strong reputation for extending boundaries, handling the hard questions and really getting things done. Under the sure hand of an engaged Board and the outgoing CEO, it has secured a peerless reputation, is strongly resourced and growing in leaps and bounds.

The core business has traditionally supported people living with mental illness and psycho-social disabilities. It’s managed by good listeners who ask the right questions and act decisively to ensure that services are flexible and can be speedily adapted to provide what clients actually need and want, at a given time.

So, what began as a supported accommodation service has now evolved into something quite different and much more far-reaching. But the quality of service – to the highest degree of excellence possible – remains unchanged. Keeping it that way through all the changes that are to come must be a major priority for the new leader.

That, and ensuring that the respectful, can-do culture for which this organisation is widely known, also remains a constant.

The new leader will ideally bring significant exposure to non-profit management, including a knowledge of HR/IR, NDIS and client centred care.

Empathetic, analytical and secure in your own skin, you are collaborative, decisive, non-judgemental and a very good negotiator with skills in both accelerating and defusing situations.

Change management, the ability to keep the organisation on a steady course, your knowledge of marketing, profile building, corporate financials, and compliance– along with proven skills as a partner and relationship builder – are all essential to success in this exceptional leadership role.

While all of the above are broad-based requirements, please don’t let those constrain you. If you are an experienced CEO who cares deeply about the issues facing people with a mental illness, you understand the principles of personal recovery and genuinely want to help, please talk to us.

To be considered for this role, please submit your cover letter and your resume in WORD format quoting reference number NMCENP by clicking apply now contact Nicola Manson on 07 3211 0001.
