As WIRES Digital Media coordinator, you will have the opportunity to contribute in delivering relevant and engaging omni-channel campaigns across our digital channels that help inform, inspire & educate followers around the work that WIRES is facilitating.

You will have a deep understanding of the difference between a like and engagement and be motivated by a desire to reach as many people as possible with your content & messaging. A passion for native animal welfare, and the knowledge that each digital engagement is an opportunity to connect with our audience and make a difference to the outcomes for native wildlife across Australia is a must.

A self-motivated individual who enjoys working creatively and collaboratively with a diverse range of internal & external stakeholders, you'll take a results-focused approach to fine-tuning our content strategy and boosting brand & organisational awareness across social media touchpoints.

A hands on & creative role Whether it be acting as a brand champion across the organisation, developing brand assets, creating & managing EDM campaigns, working with the partnerships team on securing partnerships, shaping our brand image across multiple channels or managing branch & community requests, this is the perfect role for anyone who wants to be across the full spectrum of brand management and help drive the conversation around ensuring our native Australian wildlife have the best possible future.

About You

  • You have already got a few years' experience in a similar digital role under your wings, either at an agency, in-house or at another NFP. For the right person, this role could be the perfect step up into an opportunity guide & drive the conversation.
  • You know what makes great content. You know how to grab attention, engage, make factual statements in a digestible way and speak to the right audiences.
  • You are proficient in digital and publishing software, and have a strong eye for design and layouts, including Adobe Creative Suite, CANVA, Campaign Monitor, Hootsuite, Falcon IO, Facebook business manager, Google Analytics, CRM’s & CMS.
  • You're a creative problem solver and always believe that a solution or compromise can be reached whenever you're dealing with a sticky issue.
  • Passion for and understanding of current digital and social media platforms and trends
  • Demonstrated ability to write effective and compelling stakeholder and marketing communications
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple and competing work tasks to deliver on agreed deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team environment, be flexible and take initiative
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficiency in fundraising and/or marketing
  • Outstanding copywriting, interpersonal & communication skills.
  • Social media content development, planning, scheduling and posting, organic and paid
  • Creating content with a distinct brand and culture identity that promotes genuine engagement with our supporters
  • Working consistently to our Brand Guidelines and Style Guide, and monitoring and reporting on our digital engagement to inform future activity

About Us

WIRES is Australia’s largest wildlife rescue organisation and has been rescuing and caring for sick, injured and orphaned native animals for over 35 years.

Our ongoing mission is to actively rehabilitate and preserve Australian wildlife and inspire others to do the same.

WIRES operate a dedicated Wildlife Rescue Office assisting wildlife and the community across Australia 24-hours a day, 365 days a year, providing rescue advice and assistance for over 130,000 animals annually as well as provide full-time mobile Wildlife Emergency Responders operating across Greater Sydney, South-East Queensland and Tasmania.

WIRES has actively been providing significant national support for hundreds of projects to assist with wildlife rescue and rehabilitation across Australia while also working nationally with major partners to support the long-term recovery of wildlife habitat and the long-term preservation of native species in the wild.

This is a 12 month full-time contract position with the potential for extension.
