  • Fixed Term – Full time – Solicitor Position @ 35 hours per week

Wirringa Baiya Aboriginal Women’s Legal Centre is a NSW state-wide community legal centre for Aboriginal women, children and youth. The Centre has a strong focus on assisting victim-survivors of violence. Our office is located in metropolitan Sydney at 142 Addison Road, Building 13, Marrickville NSW 2204.

Wirringa Baiya is currently seeking applications for a full-time solicitor.

Duties include:

  • Providing advice on the advice line and in person (when Covid safe)
  • Casework under supervision of Principal Solicitor
  • Assisting with Law Reform activities as required
  • Assisting, developing and providing Community Legal Education sessions (across NSW) and resources.

The fixed term position will start on the 4th July 2022 and cease on the 27th June 2025.

The position is female identified, whilst Aboriginal women are strongly encouraged to apply.

We are seeking applicants with a minimum of 6 months experience in the following areas of law:

  • Victims Support
  • Domestic Violence
  • Sexual Assault
  • Family law
  • Child Protection law
