WLSSA is a state-wide specialist community legal centre. WLSSA provides legal advice, representation, community legal education and support services to disadvantaged women living in South Australia.

About the role

The Financial Counsellor will work within a multidisciplinary team. The Financial Counsellor will deliver:

  • financial counselling and advocacy services;
  • financial information and assistance; and
  • community education.

These services will be provided to women who have fled or are fleeing situations of domestic and family violence.

As WLSSA is a state-wide service, some intrastate travel may be required. The position is full-time and will be located at the Adelaide office of WLSSA.

Skills & Experience

We are seeking a Financial Counsellor with:

  • demonstrated experience in working with women who are victims/survivors of domestic/family violence;
  • demonstrated ability to work within a financial counselling framework; and
  • a sound ability to identify and recognise the ways in which legal issues may interact with personal financial issues.

The Financial Counsellor must be a member or be eligible for membership of the South Australian Financial Counsellors Association (SAFCA).
