About us

Wesley Mission is a high profile, multi-faceted charitable organisation making a real difference in the community. We currently have a great opportunity for an experienced Communications & Content Officer to join our friendly and dedicated marketing team.

About the role

As Communications & Content Officer you’ll be responsible for sourcing and creating content across our diverse programs and services for our publications and reports, brochures, internal communications, website, social media and other Wesley Mission channels as required. This may be achieved through conducting interviews with clients, staff, supporters and partners, and extensive research.

You’ll be skilled in juggling competing deadlines across portfolios and be willing to travel to interview clients and staff and attend events as needed.

You’ll be working closely with other members of our dedicated marketing team, and internal and external stakeholders as required to support in delivering projects and achieving desired communications outcomes.

To sum up, here's what we're looking for:

Essential criteria

  • Copywriting for multiple formats, campaigns and applying brand voice
  • Ability to research, investigate and gather information for the purpose of writing copy
  • Ability to research and quickly understand industry, products and audiences
  • Ability to deliver quality and accurate content to suit a variety of digital and long copy formats, in line with organisational tone of voice and brand approach
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts or translate technical language or jargon into clear and user-friendly communication
  • Interviewing skills and ability to engage with people across a wide range of experiences and backgrounds
  • Ability to respond to briefs and engage stakeholders to achieve outcomes
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • An understanding of the Australian Christian landscape
  • Experience in managing internal and external stakeholders to achieve set objectives
  • Proven organisational skills, ability to multi-task, prioritise workloads and meet deadlines and budgets
  • Thorough attention to detail
  • Effective written and oral skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills; flexible, patient and the ability to relate well to all levels of society with which Wesley Mission interacts
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office
  • Possess a current NSW driver’s licence.
