About the opportunity

The Assistance Accountant is a part of a team of three that are responsible for the accurate and timely capture and reporting of all revenue (circa $280M).Reporting to Senior Revenue Accountant, this role will be responsible for maintaining funding schedules, completing month-end revenue journals and balance sheet reconciliations.

This role is also responsible for analysing revenue to ensure the accuracy of their work and to highlight performance issues to the FP&A team. This role works closely with a number of internal stakeholders, including the Fundraising and Early Years teams.

About you

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Technical knowledge of accounting standards and accounting principles.
  • Good computer literacy in Microsoft Word and Outlook and advanced user of Microsoft Excel.Maintain funding schedules and preparation of monthly journals
  • Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of financial policies and procedures in relation to revenue.
  • Knowledge in balance sheet reconciliations processes.
  • Ability to assist operational staff investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ability to develop and implement process improvements.
