The Mental Health and Wellbeing Traineeship is part of the Earn & Learn Program, an initiative of the Victorian Government to encourage growth in the community mental health and wellbeing sector. This enables people to study mental health education and work in a community mental health service. Uniting is offering positions in a range of mental health services to support Mental Health and Wellbeing Trainees to gain valuable practical experience as they complete their studies.
Mental Health and Wellbeing Trainees will be responsible for providing support to the day-to-day intake and assessment service functions, outreach support, individual and group support, and working collaboratively with consumers to achieve their wellbeing and recovery goals.
Trainees will be supported with workplace supervision and guidance, as well as relevant training and education to meet their learning and development needs. Through this they will develop a sound understanding of the community mental health sector through employment.
