About the opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Non Residential Withdrawal (NRW) Nurse to join the North West Catchment team based in Footscray. 

The Non-Residential Withdrawal Nurse position is responsible for all aspects of the medical management of a client’s alcohol or other drug withdrawal in a non-residential setting. This includes monitoring client withdrawal symptoms and associated medication management. The NRW Nurse liaises with medical staff (GPs or hospital staff) and other clinical staff (e.g. mental health clinicians) to ensure the safe and effective management of withdrawal and co-occurring physical and mental health conditions.

About you

To be successful in the role you will be a registered nurse (Div 1 or Div 3 Nurse), have a certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs or the required competencies in AOD and qualifications in dual diagnosis or willingness to undertake. You will have demonstrated experience working with AOD and/or dual diagnosis clients and proven ability in all aspect of the medical management of a client’s withdrawal program.
