About the opportunity

Towards Home Plus is a multidisciplinary team providing wraparound support to people experiencing homelessness and multiple co-occurring issues. The Towards Home Plus team works collaboratively and dynamically to support rough sleepers into housing options while addressing other health and well-being concerns.

The Senior AOD Clinician role offers an opportunity to work both autonomously and in collaboration with staff across housing, nursing, youth, First Nations and mental health disciplines.

The team offers a holistic, assertive outreach support service to people who are homeless and rough sleepers. It provides intensive, flexible, responsive, client focused support featuring a multidisciplinary team approach with the aim of assisting clients to successfully sustain housing, improve physical and mental health and develop connections within the local community.

About you

To be successful in the role you will have tertiary qualifications in social work, psychology, nursing or other relevant allied health discipline, certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs Work or 4 key competencies in AOD, qualifications in dual diagnosis or willingness to undertake, as well as demonstrated experience working in the AOD and/or dual diagnosis clients.

We are looking for a candidate who has excellent communication and engagement skills and is able to work decisively and autonomously. The successful candidate should have extensive experience in the AOD sector and in working with people with complex needs. In particular, they will need to have confidence assessing and managing risk across a range of presenting issues/
