GenWest (formerly Women's Health West) is the gender equity agency for the western metropolitan region of Melbourne. Our programs and services are for designed to redress gender inequity and benefit victim-survivors of family violence in Melbourne’s west.

Our mission at GenWest is supporting women and their children to lead safe and healthy lives, and changing the conditions that cause and maintain inequity and injustice. We do this through the provision of family violence services, health promotion activities and advocacy. We support women in all their diversity to have a greater voice in local leadership and decision making.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY – BOARD DIRECTOR VACANCY

Do you live, work or study in Melbourne’s West?

GenWest is seeking applications to join our skills based, voluntary Board of Directors. You will be joining the Board at an exciting time as we embark on the organisation’s bold new 5 year strategy.

As a volunteer board director, you join a diverse and respected group of directors to oversee and support the delivery of Women’s Health West’s strategic goals.

As well as attending Board meetings, you will participate in one or more of the Board Committees or working groups. We ask for your passion and commitment to our mission and strategic goals, and your ability to contribute the necessary time and energy to the important work of the Board.

All appointments are made subject to the candidate providing a current satisfactory National Police Certificate conducted by the Victoria Police and a working with children check. You also need to provide international police check if you have worked overseas within the last ten years for a minimum of twelve months.
