Business Analyst - Finance

The position

As the Business Analyst you will assist with the formulation of the Go-To-Market plans and coordinate the setting and reporting of financial performance metrics. The purpose of this role is to understand the link between financial and non-financial metrics and works closely with other analysts to ensure a holistic view is being formed.

Your role plays an integral part in the organisation, enabling us to support our mission of empowering Australians to create meaningful change for the world’s most vulnerable children and adults.

The role is accountable day to day to support the Strategy Enablement and Performance Business Partner to effectively monitor group level performance and enable strategy achievement.

A day in the life of WVA’s Business Analyst - Finance includes:

  • Production of performance reporting, including design and testing
  • Support the design and maintenance of reporting and analytics framework for financial metrics in line with decision architecture
  • Financial and non-financial analysis to drive discussion and decision making
  • Assist with regular Sales Cadence updates
  • Assist with the coordination of budget and forecast processes
  • Assist with coordinating the analysis of proposed resource allocations
  • Assist with financial modelling and scenario analysis
  • Assist with the coordination of the formulation of the setting of financial performance parameters to integrate into planning process
  • Assist with financial analysis and validation of plan iteration recommendations made by business analysts to determine affordability
  • Identification of continuous improvement opportunities
  • Input into business strategy and planning processes and development of tools and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Who we’re looking for

As the Business Analyst, you demonstrate high commercial acumen, a service focus and an approach to processes and practices with a continuous improvement mindset.

The successful candidates will also possess the following skills, experience & qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance or other relevant discipline.
  • CA qualification (or progress towards) preferred but not required.
  • First experience in management accounting and in financial/non-financial reporting and analysis
  • Strong involvement in budget setting and management processes
  • Demonstrated financial modelling experience (preferred)
  • Involvement in strategic planning and implementation
  • Stakeholder engagement at management levels
  • Ability to define simple solutions to complex problems.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Sound verbal and written communication and presenting skills.
