The position

We are seeking a qualified and passionate Childcare Educator to work within the Kurdu-Kurdu Kurlangu Child Care Centre in the remote community of Yuendumu, NT. World Vision Australia is working in partnership with the Warlpiri Youth Development Aboriginal Corporation (WYDAC) to re-build and deliver the childcare service for Warlpiri families in Yuendumu after a period of low utilisation and closure. Reporting to the Early Learning Centre Director, you will work with a caring team of like-minded people to deliver a safe, nurturing and engaging early learning program that recognises the importance of Warlpiri language and culture. While this role is responsible for the management of staff, you may be required to step into a management role from time to time.

  • The position is a contract role until 30th June 2023
  • Based in Yuendumu, you will be entitled to a $12k remote allowance and housing is provided.
  • You will have 5 weeks’ leave each year

Who we’re looking for 

Our ideal person is willing to take on the challenge of working alongside the Yuendumu community to create an inviting space for children and families. You have experience in similar roles in a remote area, and enjoy rolling up your sleeves and being part of a team.

  • Experience working in a registered childcare centre, ideally in a remote location
  • Able to deliver an early years curriculum that meets the needs of the community
  • Love working with children and imparting knowledge in a caring and nurturing way
  • Understanding of First Nations culture is desirable
