The position

The Country Impact Officer provides assistance to manage a portfolio of investments (grants, Area Programs and HEA) within a field office that are supported by WVA. The role will be required to build collaborative relationships across WVA, and engage and support a number of internal and external stakeholders to support WVA’s evolution as an Impact Business. Your role plays an integral part in the organisation, enabling us to support our mission of empowering Australians to create meaningful change for the world’s most vulnerable children and adults.

In addition to this you will:

• Strategically engage with Field Offices and Implementation Partners to support design, monitoring and stand up of HEA, Grants and Area Programs across a select portfolio
• Ensure your portfolio of investments have desirable impact and are of the highest quality and fully compliant with policy obligations
• Be contributing to developing documentary evidence for Impact and supporting business development through grant acquisition
• Ensure collaborative relationships are built with teams across Field Impact and all Supporter-facing teams across the enterprise
• Monitor progress and quality of project implementation and follow up with National Offices to address issues as required

• With guidance from Country Impact Managers, deliver timely and quality impact and financial reporting, including directly to institutional donors for grants and critical internal stakeholders (including the WVA Impact Hub).

Who we’re looking for 

We are looking for someone with program management experience, ideally with a grant portfolio. You will:

• Be keen, energetic with great energy and wanting to learn
• Have self-managed work experience, with the ability to maintain focus and achieve outcomes under pressure
• Have project management experience, including an understanding of contracting and contract management as well as risk management 
• Previously have worked in a similar organisation with overseas experience being advantageous
• Have an understanding of methods to influence and negotiate with project stakeholders
• Have a social / international development related degree or work experience (advantage)
