Early Childhood Development and Literacy Program Advisor - Flexble Location

We are seeking an Early Childhood and Literacy Program Advisor to join World Vision Australia (WVA)  on an initial full time fixed term contract until June 2022 (extension may be possible). You will work in the Australia First Nations Program (AFNP) and provide vital technical support and guidance to the field teams working in these projects in remote communities in WA and the NT. This is a central role providing guidance in quality control, support for monitoring and evaluation, collaborating on the capacity building of staff, and managing relationships across the AFNP, WVA and the early years learning sector.

Specifically the role requires the successful candidate to work collaboratively with colleagues to:

  • Adapt project models and resources to local First Nations community contexts.
  • Drive program quality efforts through continuous improvement processes, including reflective practice, problem solving, review and analysis of project designs, collaborating with reporting.
  • Provide Early Childhood Care and Development and Early Literacy technical support to develop adapted designs, monitoring and evaluation frameworks, tools and processes, and program resources.
  • Facilitate learning and development in collaboration with field staff and partners in project locations (primarily in the West Kimberley and Central Australia).
  • Support new projects and enhancing impact working with colleagues in grants and communications.

Who we're looking for:

You will have demonstrated success and experience in monitoring and evaluation as well as working community development contexts. Previous experience in Early childhood Care and Development and early education in general will be highly regarded, preferably with First Nations people and communities. In addition, you will have:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience in project management, facilitation, as well as data collection and analysis
  • Experience in working with remote Aboriginal communities, and/or other disadvantaged communities in a cross cultural context
  • Tertiary qualifications in evaluation, community development and/or relevant social sciences
  • The capacity to work in a flexible context and be adaptable in providing collaborative support to others

What you need to know:

This is a full-time fixed term role until June 2022 and may be based in Alice Springs, Derby, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane or Sydney but must be able to undertake regular interstate travel. This role is filling a 12-month staff career-break so it is possible it may be extended.
