The position

Lead the project management of a portfolio of grants in a geographic sector, acting to connect donors to our field impact and foster relationships with country offices to achieve quality grant implementation. This includes standing-up a grant once it has been won, implementation through the relevant World Vision National Office/s, monitoring, internal and external reporting, donor compliance, financial and risk management and evaluation to ensure that World Vision Australia meets and exceeds donor expectations as well as ensuring quality within development standards.

Your role plays an integral part in the organisation, enabling us to support our mission of empowering Australians to create meaningful change for the world’s most vulnerable children and adults.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Establishing a platform for enhanced engagement with DFAT, other donors, partner agencies, and other relevant supporters such as corporates and major donors
  • Regular monitoring of field programmatic and financial reporting, with accountability for following up to address issues and build capacity as required
  • Collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders including counterpart Grant Managers, Portfolio Advisors and Financial and other support teams for effective grant management and coordinated engagement with National Offices
  • Leading or contributing, as agreed and required, to the coordination of an aspect of WVA’s overall development grant portfolio management e.g. evaluation, technical skills, National Office training, participation in relevant thematic Working Groups
  • Timely and quality submission of all internal and external reporting, including Annual Development Plans, performance and financial reporting, ensuring that reports meet &, where possible, exceed donor expectations & WVA standards
  • Deliver growth within the portfolio by working with WVA’s Grant Acquisition team to identify and capitalise on growth opportunities within the portfolio

Who we’re looking for 

As the successful applicant, you will have a breadth of capabilities, including the ability to influence, negotiate, build and maintain partnership relationships and collaborate.

You will have:

  • Significant complex grant management experience, ideally with a portfolio of grants
  • Program management experience, including the development and communication of results
  • Self-managed work experience, with ability to maintain focus and achieve outcomes under pressure
  • Account management or commercial experience in identifying or developing further opportunities
  • An understanding of procurement or grants structures and processes of the Australian Government, public service, and/or other international organisations. Knowledge of EU and the requirements of the EU Program is helpful
  • An understanding emerging models of partnering between NGOs and government/international organisations
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications: these may include Business/Marketing, International Relations/International Development, or a relevant technical field
