Grants and Communications Advisor - Australia Wide

The position

As Grants and Communications Advisor for World Vision Australia (WVA), you will be responsible for managing our grant acquisition pipeline and for writing high-quality grant/tender proposals, reports and project briefs.

You will work closely with the Senior Business Advisor to scope future grant opportunities and keeping the grant acquisition pipeline up to date. You will also develop a detailed understanding of core project models, developing project briefs, impact reports and communications to support fundraising and the communication of impact, enabling us to support our mission of empowering Australians to create meaningful change for the world’s most vulnerable children and adults.

In addition to this you will:

  • Work collaboratively with Technical Advisors, Program and Project Managers to prepare high quality proposals, project briefs and communications pieces 
  • Working collaboratively with the Operations Manager, Operations Coordinator and project teams to develop budgets for Grant/Tender proposals and undertake income tracking
  • Being a key point of contact for Australia First Nations Program, you will develop productive relationships with World Vision stakeholders in the impact hub, marketing, private funding and public affairs teams
  • Developing a productive relationship with the Impact Hub and supporting its efforts to communicate credible stories of impact to donors and other stakeholders

Who we’re looking for 

As the successful applicant, you will have a breadth of capabilities, including experience in facilitating collaborative approach to preparing successful grant/tender submissions.

In addition, you will have:

  • Track record in writing successful grant and tender proposals in the community development/human service sectors
  • Track record in business writing and the development of business cases, impact reports, concept notes and project briefs
  • Some knowledge of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, histories and political contexts
  • An understanding of community development as it relates to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, youth and families
  • A strong alignment to our values and behaviours, with evidence that you can contribute to a constructive, high performance culture
  • Excellent written and highly effective verbal communication skills and ability to use these to engage and influence a broad range of stakeholders
  • Ability review current relevant literature to gain clear understanding of existing evidence base, sectoral trends and requirements and apply it to communications and grant writing
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Sectoral Knowledge of the Children, Youth and Family Services
  • Track record in writing successful grant and tender proposals in the community development/human service sectors
