Manager - Business Assurance

As the Business Assurance Manager for World Vision Australia, you will work with executive level and operational stakeholders to lead and embed our approach to compliance. You will work with our existing Compliance Framework to diagnose any systemic gaps there are around WVA’s business assurance capabilities to continue to embed our compliance framework across the organisation, enabling us to fulfil our mission of helping the world’s most vulnerable.

Reporting to the Head of Risk, your main duties and responsibilities will include;

  • Leading the range of WVA business and support functions to develop, embed and maintain their own business assurance (compliance) plans within the context of World Vision’s policy, legal and regulatory requirements
  • Continue to implement a risk-based Compliance Framework to ensure that compliance processes and culture align with WVA’s mission, values, strategic goals and the overarching policies and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate policy owners across WVA to review their operationally owned policies and ensure they are implementing adequate business processes to comply with these policies
  • Assisting the Head of Risk in more general risk and internal audit related functions
  • Engaging in broader compliance related activities such as DFAT Accreditation and ACFID Self-Assessment processes

Who we’re looking for 

We are seeking someone who is a highly motivated individual with strong business partnering and stakeholder skills, enabling you to work effectively with people at all levels in an organisation.

You will also have:

  • Experience in developing and then embedding a comprehensive compliance function and framework
  • Self-managing and able to lead a business function in a proactive manner
  • Strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to foster and grow stakeholder relationship
  • Strong knowledge of compliance framework approaches and methodologies
  • Ability to take a pragmatic, risk-based approach to embedding a business assurance function on a priority needs basis
  • High degree of resilience and ability to cope with ambiguity and changing priorities
