This unique opportunity as the Senior Policy Advisor (Economic Empowerment) will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to lead policy thinking on economic development for one of Australia’s largest international development and humanitarian organisations.
The successful candidate will research, analyse and identify feasible policy solutions for children, families and communities as they rebuild their lives and livelihoods in the face of COVID-19, rising inequality and the increasing impacts of climate change. This will involve:
In this role, you will build on World Vision’s extensive experience and field presence in economic empowerment to influence decision-makers to change their policies and practices, with a focus on how the Australian aid program can better support an inclusive economic recovery from COVID-19 in the Indo-Pacific region. They have high-level analytical and public policy development skills, the ability to persuasively influence internal and external stakeholders based on sound and logical reasoning and can handle media as a spokesperson on issues related to economic development in the region, especially how to make markets work better work for the poor and how to support women’s economic empowerment.

Experience in designing or delivering economic development programs or working in the Indo-Pacific region is desirable, but not required.
