The position

If you love making a real difference in the lives of young children, we have an outstanding opportunity for someone who would like to work with a remote community in managing an early years playgroup within a supportive environment.

As the Willowra Early Learning Centre Coordinator, you will be supporting a team of 6 Warlpiri facilitators to deliver a safe, nurturing and engaging early learning program that recognises the importance of Warlpiri language and culture. The Coordinator will work closely with an Early Childhood Reference Group who provide guidance and support to this project which is funded and overseen by the Warlpiri Education and Training Trust (WETT).

  • The position is a contract role until 31st December 2022
  • Based in Willowra, in addition to your salary package, you will be entitled to a $12k remote allowance and housing.
  • The playgroup operates four days each week, with Fridays as a staff training and development day
  • You will have 5 weeks’ leave each year

Who we’re looking for 

Are you a go-getting leader who loves to manage others, lead projects and has a passion for early childcare? This position is located in the local community, so experience living and working in a remote community is desirable.

  • You will have a Diploma of Early Childhood
  • Ability to build capacity in the local workforce - Provide mentoring, coaching and support to local early childhood educators in the implementation of the 3A and ‘both ways’ learning principles and practices.
  • Passion for early learning and ability to adapt the curriculum to suit the community needs and priorities
  • Understanding of First Nations culture is desirable
