World Vision Australia are seeking a Young Mob Facilitator to facilitate our Young Mob program to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth in schools in the Sydney and Hunter Valley regions.

Your role will be to help develop confidence and resilience in Aboriginal youth so they can confidently engage with the world and have strong connections within and across their cultures and communities. 

This role will offer a significant support to existing management in a Young Mob location, completing project-based work and project administration as well as general facilitation.

This is a permanent part-time opportunity (3 days per week).

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

• Project Facilitation - Effective facilitation of Young Mob activities. This will include sharing stories of your own experience, personal and cultural identity. Facilitate a range of activities focused on the Young Mob themes share cultural values, knowledge and skills.
• Contribute to program monitoring, evaluation, reporting and development - Contribute to the quality monitoring, learning and evaluation about progress towards project outcomes, including collection and review of project data as required.
• Communication - Maintain communication with the Young Mob Facilitators Group and contribute as required to communication materials that enable reporting back to WVA and project supporters.

Your skills and experience will include:

• Facilitation of activities with Indigenous young people
• Strong yarning and storytelling skills
• Showing and receiving respect with young people
• Adaptable and flexible to changing work locations and schedules
• Able to work independently and as a member of a team
• Strong communication skills with some experience in facilitating, mentoring, training, coaching, supervising or teaching young people
• Cultural knowledge relevant to Young Mob themes
• Familiarity with youth life issues in NSW
• Completion of Year 12 Secondary School
