Main Purpose of the role

This hands-on position is directly responsible for the delivery of an efficient, high-quality digital service to the Australia-New Zealand office, managing digital projects and supporting the Marketing lead on more substantial projects. Projects include building digital assets to support the Marcomms, Campaigns, Partnership Giving and Fundraising teams in the Australia and New Zealand office, working within the global digital frameworks to strengthen and build World Animal Protection’s digital presence and brand. The role requires a thought leadership approach, bringing fresh ideas, new technologies and industry best practices.

Accountabilities

    • 40% of the role is managing the delivery, enhancement and maintenance of digital content on our websites (landing pages, web stories, forms etc.)

    • 30% of the role entails optimising and reporting insights for our ecommerce platforms (our donation platforms and e-stores)

    • 15% of the role is reporting and insights performance and ensuring tracking and testing is properly set up in Google tag manager and on links and set up appropriate goals and tags

    • 5%adhoc duties including global digital upgrade projects

Duties and Responsibilities

Digital content:

  • A skilled user of all content management systems, able to troubleshoot and suggest improvements
  • Manage the day to day running of the digital platforms utilising a blend of editorial, creative and technical skills
  • Advise content writers and page guardians on implementing best practice, including our brand UX principles, SEO and online content writing guidelines to drive organic traffic to AU and NZ sites
  • Design, testing, creation and reporting for new campaign landing pages as required to enhance engagement.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to HTML templates, mobile-responsive design and other aspects of email execution, when required.
  • Liaising with internal local and international stakeholders to deliver timely communications to World Animal Protection supporters.
  • Interpret briefs, provide feedback and create and schedule updates in a timely manner.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to ensuring all digital assets and channels align with the brand guidelines.
  • Work closely with the Fundraising and Campaigns teams to provide support for fundraising and campaign activities online.
  • Transform user requirements into industry-standard web applications using your design and programming skills.

eCommerce:

  • Manage, optimise and report on the ecommerce store and merchandise offerings for AU and NZ
  • Work with internal stakeholders to promote new products across digital channels
  • Manage, test and report donation forms performance for both Au and NZ

Tracking and analytics

  • Maintain tracking of digital activity in Google tag manager

  • Create reports in Google Datastudio and share relevant insights with internal stakeholders

  • Conduct testing and optimisation of the websites to enhance engagement

  • Work with the global digital team, local stakeholders and external partners to understand content optimisation performance metrics through A/B testing, heat maps and user behaviour to optimise design for impactful user experiences.

  • Manage required tracking, goals and event/UTM tracking within Google Analytics for Marketing, Fundraising and Campaigns and add tags in Google Tag Manager as required in collaboration with the marketing manager.

  • Work with the wider digital team to manage monthly and quarterly KPI reporting digital channels.

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Experience using content management systems (esp. Drupal and Wordpress)
  • Quick learner and problem solving attitude
  • High attention to detail and good time management skills
  • Degree in Information Technology or Marketing
  • Minimum of 3-5 years industry/professional experience in a digital producer or web developer role
  • Ability to manage multiple projects based on demands and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in HTML and CSS
  • Relevant cross-functional experience (eCommerce, web, social media, apps)

Desirable

  • Experience working on digital transformation projects
  • Knowledge of Javascript
  • Experience in Fundraising
  • Experience in using Marketing automation platforms would be highly regarded (esp. Marketo)
