  • Sunshine Coast based

  • SCHCDS Award Level 3/4 (depending on experience)

This is a great opportunity to join a well-respected community legal and social welfare agency for young people and play your part in helping young people and their families to get their lives back on track! YAC has a multidisciplinary team delivering services across the greater Brisbane area generally, to young people aged 10-18 years who are involved in, or at risk of involvement in the youth justice and/or child protection systems, and/or are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

YAC’s Bail Support Service (BOSS) is a support program for young people involved in the youth justice system from the Sunshine Coast to the Gold Coast. BOSS is seeking a Youth Worker based in the Sunshine Coast to assist young people located in an area predominantly from northern Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast. The role therefore involves significant travel across a large physical area (a YAC vehicle is provided for work-related travel). The BOSS Youth Worker will support young people to successfully complete their bail/order and meet any conditions related to that, whilst also addressing the issues which may be bringing them into conflict with the law.

YAC has an expectation that all staff will be reliable and punctual, both within the office and in responding to young people and their families, and that they will support diversity and respect in the work place and in their practice.

YAC values diversity in all its forms and welcomes applications from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people; those from ethnically diverse communities; and LGBTIQ+ persons.
