Yalari educates and empowers Indigenous children from regional, rural and remote communities. We provide trusted, quality educational opportunities and support for Indigenous children to achieve positive outcomes for themselves and their families and make valuable contributions as Australians. In 2022, we have 238 students receiving a first-class education and experience through full boarding scholarships at 20 of Australia’s leading secondary schools. The Role

This is a new role working closely with and reporting to the Head of Fundraising to engage, retain and increase the support from Yalari’s sponsors, corporate partners, major donors and philanthropic trusts and foundations. These supporters include sponsors of student scholarships, pathways scholarships, student and alumni events, and other valued partners.

The priorities for this role are:

  • To ensure sponsors, corporate partners and other valued supporters feel part of the Yalari family and receive relevant and timely communications, including student profiles and ad-hoc updates, newsletters, invitations to Yalari events and project reports.
  • To engage existing and new partners and generate increased revenue through their support of scholarships and other events, the Yalari Foundation, Yalari dinners, third party fundraising, workplace giving, volunteering etc.
  • To maintain detailed and accurate records and documentation regarding all sponsorships and partnerships

You will have exceptional interpersonal communication skills and a manner which inspires supporters and helps them feel good about their giving.

And you’ll be a collaborative team player and a positive influence on team culture with a passion for achieving generational change through the education and empowerment of Indigenous children.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Fundraising experience and successful track record in a similar position
  • Demonstrated record of achieving fundraising targets
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills
  • Outstanding negotiations skills
  • Commitment to philanthropy and best practice in fundraising and supporter experience
  • Superior time management and strong organisational and project management skills
  • Collaborative team player and positive influencer of team culture
