We provide affordable housing, and work to reduce disadvantage and social exclusion for people who have previously been homeless, by helping to create communities around them. Unison assists over 3,500 people each year who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Unison is actively recruiting for the following opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic HR Senior Advisor / RTW Coordinator, full time based at our Melbourne office, although currently working from home. You will work as part of a small People Services team and deliver generalist human resources services, administration and support, and the RTW function.

Working in a full-time position, your primary focus will be as a Human Resources Senior Advisor responsible for on-boarding, contracts preparation, training coordination, Enterprise Agreement advice, and general HR admin: a real all-rounder. The role is split approximately 60 / 40 across the duties of HR/RTW. No two days are the same and you will experience HR delivered at a fast pace and responsive to the needs of the organisation.

The Return to Work Coordinator duties includes processing claims, providing injury prevention and return to work support to employees and their managers/team leaders, and to assist injured individuals to return to work at the earliest opportunity.

You will be responsible for maintaining an active knowledge of work health and safety practices including Victoria Workers Compensation legislation and you will provide exceptional advice to all key stakeholders in a return to work process including injured employees, managers and key contacts.

To be successful for this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience as a RTW Coordinator and have completed RTW Coordinator training as recognised by WorkSafe Victoria
  • Cert IV in Human Resources [or similar] and demonstrated experience in all facets of HR
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Sound time management and organisational skills
  • Strategic and analytical thinking
  • Exceptional computer skills, particularly in MS Office
  • Hold and maintain a current Australian Driver’s Licence
  • National Police Record check
  • WWCC
