Assessment and Service Connect worker

YFS Ltd

We are looking for a highly skilled, experienced person to work in our Assessment and Service Connect team. If you’re passionate about creating change for families and helping children be safe in their homes, and you have experience working within the Child Safety environment, this could be the ideal next step for you.

You’ll need to have great assessment and engagement skills, as you’ll be working with families to quickly connect them to services and supports that will help keep their children safe.

The ideal person for this role will be creative, solution focused and flexible. If you like routine this is probably not the job for you as no two days are the same.

You will work side by side with Child Safety to assist families during Child Safety investigation and assessment processes. In this role you will:

  • quickly build connection with parents and children in crisis
  • need to have experience in completing accurate family and individual assessments
  • have knowledge of adverse childhood experiences, childhood development and impacts of trauma
  • have skills in working with families with Family Violence, Drug and Alcohol misuse, Mental Health issues, or Disabilities.

You will work with a great team of supportive, committed, multi-disciplined professionals who will have your back every day. You’ll also connect people to a range of services, so you’ll need to build relationships with Child Safety Service Centre staff and other agencies and organisations.

You will benefit from professional development, a supportive work environment and a monthly accrued day off.
