Connections Coordinator - Young Parents

YFS Ltd

Many young parents report feeling isolated and lacking support.

We are looking for a Connections Coordinator to help our Young Families team develop opportunities for young parents to connect with each other and with other support networks in the community.

If you are enthusiastic and strategic about backing young parents to create support networks that work for them, this could be the job for you.

We are looking for a worker with significant experience working with young people (ideally young parents) and a strong understanding of peer support development.

If you’re interested in designing responses that are strongly based on what young parents are interested in, and finding customised ways to meet the needs of Logan young parents, we’d like to hear from you.

You’ll be part of an integrated team that incorporates Family Resource Practitioners, a Counsellor, a Housing Specialist and an Education and Employment Mentor, all focused on backing young families to thrive.

This will be a varied role, potentially including establishing purposeful group activities, fostering relationships between parents, and helping our staff find ways to build families’ connections, and other innovative ways to build connections.

YFS is a leader in Youth Services in the Logan, Redlands and surrounding areas. Our integrated approach is designed to deliver better outcomes for our young people. In this role, you will collaborate with other teams across our range of services including alcohol and other drugs services, transition from care programs, youth justice, housing and legal services. This also means there are great opportunities to develop your skills and career.
