An exciting leadership opportunity to build the profile of the Y NSW by delivering timely, relevant & effective communications aligned with our strategic vision. We're looking for an experienced communications and corporate affairs leader with a proven track record, and who is looking to manage a dynamic, hard-working team based in Parramatta.

About the role

Reporting to the Executive Leader of Purpose and Impact, you will lead a small team to coordinate and execute internal and external communications, including media, social media, PR campaigns and crisis communications.

This fast-paced role will have you overseeing the growth of Y NSW's public profile, ensuring an increase in brand awareness, media presence, digital footprint and positive reputation.

You'll be our resident communications expert for the business and take a lead role in delivering CEO communications, corporate collateral and thought leadership initiatives.

About you

You will have excellent written and verbal communications skills, as well as the ability to effectively manage complex and competing stakeholder demands. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a head for strategy, an eye for media opportunities and are experienced with issues management.

You have experience managing teams of communications professionals.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications or a related discipline
  • Experience working in media, PR or strategic/corporate communications
  • Experience in growing the brand presence of an organisation via media channels and social and digital platforms
  • Experience managing reactive media and crisis communications
  • Experience managing a team
  • Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)
  • Police check (paid for by the Y)

We operate 24 recreation centres, 53 out-of-school-hours care services, and two camping locations which employ 1,500 staff across NSW – and fund our diverse range of enriching community programs.
