THE ROLE

The Graphic Design & Digital Media Specialist works alongside the Manager, Marketing & Creative to execute the marketing functions of the organisation. This role is heavily focused on creative design and production output, along with executing across digital channels. The successful candidate will be highly proficient in social media, confident in creating both written and digital content including paid advertising.

The hands-on role is a satisfying mix of graphic design, social media management and website improvements/updates along with a wide variety of B2C and B2B marketing initiatives.

About the marketing and creative team:

We are rebuilding the marketing team with several positions currently out to market. There is some flexibility in each vacant role, capable of being tailored to the unique skill set of the individual. The aim is to build a small team with complimenting skills addressing many of the ‘desired’ skills/experience noted below.

The marketing team supports the needs and requests of roughly 10 recreation locations and 25 OSHC’s/ELC’s (ranging from program promotion to integrated membership campaigns and everything in-between). In addition to retail/consumer-oriented marketing, the team also fulfils the organisations business-to-business strategies including tender preparation and communications to the 600+ YMCA South Australia team.

The marketing team is primarily based at YMCA South Australia Support Services (Waymouth Street). The team enjoys a strong work-life balance with flexibility in office hours and partial work from home ability. Some ad-hoc and infrequent travel may be required to visit locations.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • 3+ Years experience (midweight) graphic designer (in-house)
  • Advanced Adobe Suite abilities (relevant and up to date portfolio required)
  • Intermediate/Advanced Social Media management (content creation, advertising, reporting)
  • High level of attention to detail driven by a relentless passion to produce excellent work
  • An understanding of how UX and content interact, strategically aligning digital platforms to support the in-person experience
  • Good knowledge of website usability, interface design and site architecture, with experience with website content management systems
  • Experience creating and executing end-to-end campaigns including both digital and traditional channels

Desired (the role can be tailored towards an individual’s unique skill sets):

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in graphic design, creative arts, or similar.
  • SEO, SEM, and associated reporting (Google Analytics & Data Studio)
  • Tender document compilation (InDesign)
  • Digital sales funnels (B2B and B2C)
  • Website content & maintenance (Craft CMS); basic working knowledge of HTML/CSS
  • Copywriting ability (social media, EDM’s, website, tenders, etc)
  • Video filming, production.
  • Photography
  • Experience, knowledge and passion in our primary industries (Recreation & Children’s Services)
