About Us

At Yooralla, we believe that exceptional customer service starts with employees who love what they do. Our people are committed to supporting people with disabilities to live the life they choose and obtaining the best possible outcomes for our customers. We have played an active role in improving public awareness and progressing the nature of disability support in Australia for over 100 years.

The Ventilator Accommodation Support Service (VASS) is the only one of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere offering permanent and respite accommodation to people who are dependent on mechanical ventilation or have high respiratory supports within a social model of care. The residents of VASS are encouraged to integrate with the community, live with autonomy and be drivers of their care and supports.

About the Role

We have a unique opportunity for Registered Nurses with critical care or post graduate respiratory qualifications to utilise their skills in a person-centred community based environment. Within an NDIS funded model, this position is best suited to registered nurses with advanced tracheostomy and ventilator experience who enjoy delivering direct and comprehensive nursing care. Ideally, to promote continuity of supports, applicants will be required to commit to a minimum of 0.4 FTE across a 24 hour fixed roster.

The Registered Nurse at VASS is professionally responsible for providing clinical leadership and specialist direct nursing care in a way that reflects the customer’s individual needs and is delivered in a respectful and dignified manner. The Registered Nurse works collaboratively with residents and a team of Disability Support Workers trained in delivery of high intensity tracheostomy and ventilation supports.

We are currently experiencing a significant period of growth and change and welcome applicants who want to be part of this. We value new ideas and offer an environment that encourages innovation.
