About the role

Yooralla has vacancies in Melbourne’s North, West, South and East regions for a passionate, positive relationship builder, with experience working with a transdisciplinary/multidisciplinary team model to join our team as a permanent, full-time, early career Speech Pathologist. This fulfilling role will provide best practice, evidence-based speech pathology services to adult or children with disabilities to achieve their goals and live the life they choose.

Your working days will be varied and may involve:

  • delivering therapy in people's homes, educational settings or in the community; aimed at maximising a person’s participation in daily life and promoting physical health and wellbeing
  • working part of an interdisciplinary team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Psychologists

About You

You will be a newly established and enthusiastic Speech Pathologist with good interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop skills in engaging people with disabilities, motivate them and build their capability. You will be working in partnership with people with disabilities to set and achieve goals, and to work collaboratively with the person’s supports, including their families.

To be successful in this role you’ll share Yooralla’s values and have:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent (i.e. Masters) in Speech Pathology
  • Graduate or within 2 years of your clinical practice experience
  • the ability to work within a transdisciplinary/multidisciplinary team model
  • the ability to build positive relationships with customers and their families
  • a willingness to improve on your clinical practice – including the ability to self-reflect and a focus on developing clinical skills in areas you’re not familiar with
  • care for the work you do and for the people you work with
  • competency in a variety of IT platforms
  • good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia and
  • an Australian driver’s license and own vehicle, and a willingness to travel within the region you are working in as required

Appointment is subject to pre employment checks including the NDIS Worker Screening Check, Inherent Position Requirements Employee Declaration, Working with Children’s Check, Reference Checks, AHPRA Registration Check and evidence of Full COVID-19 vaccination.
