About the role

Your Community Health is seeking enthusiastic Registered Nurses to join the Medical Services Team as we expand our General Practice Respiratory Clinic (GPRC) services. The service is State Government funded and recognises the critical role of primary care can play in supporting people to access respiratory assessments and care (including COVID-19 testing) as well as necessary primary care services for COVID positive people; close to where they live, reducing demand on hospital emergency departments.

The GPRC supports people of all ages with respiratory symptoms and/or COVID-19 diagnosis to access comprehensive assessment and treatment to support the management of their illness.

Reporting to the Clinical Nurse Coordinator, the position will also support the provision of professional, high quality and holistic medical services as part of the Medical Services and/or COVID Response teams; supported by an integrated and diverse multidisciplinary allied health and community health services team. Medical and Specialist services are offered within a mixed-billing framework.

Services provided by the Medical and Specialist Clinics, in addition to the GPRC include:

  • Aboriginal health
  • General medicine
  • Health checks for over 75's
  • Chronic disease management
  • COVID-19 Vaccination clinic
  • Healthy liver clinic
  • Lymphoedema clinic
  • Mental health nursing
  • Pathology (by Austin Pathology)
  • Pharmacotherapy clinic
  • Refugee Health clinic
  • Specialist Paediatric Development and Behavioural clinic
  • Trans and gender diverse health
  • Vitamin D clinic

To succeed in this role you will have:

  • AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Applied knowledge and skills in the area of general practice and respiratory medicine, or a willingness to learn.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
