We are currently looking for three (3) Carer Coaches to deliver effective, in-person and online coaching support for carers through the Carer Gateway. This consists of building carers capacity to self-identify needs and goals, and empowering carers to self-manage, whilst offering support and resources on a wide range of issues related to their caring role.

These new roles reporting to Team Leader (Carer Services), will be based both within the community, and from our Chatswood office once stay at home orders are lifted. There will be the opportunity for flexible work arrangements including the potential for working from home.

About You:

  • Certificate IV (or working towards) or a degree in a related field and/or experience working within the ageing or disability sectors.
  • Previous experience in coaching programs is preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the needs of older people and/or people with a disability, and their carers.
  • Lived experience as a carer is preferred, but not essential.
  • Ability to articulate and share personal strategies for self-care, safety, and wellbeing.
  • Ability to foster and maintain a positive and optimistic outlook towards carers and share relevant lived experiences to develop trust and rapport.
  • Level of awareness and empathy that allows them to work with groups that may challenge their ethical opinions and values.
  • Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft Office
