Governance and Risk Officer

About the role

Reporting to the Enterprise Risk and Compliance Manager the Governance and Risk Officer supports yourtown to develop and maintain frameworks and management systems that are fit-for-purpose, meet internal and external requirements and are aligned with industry best practice.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, maintaining and overseeing the Quality Management System and coordinating periodic external audits to maintain ISO9001 certification;
  • Assisting with the administration and implementation of the Risk Management Framework;
  • Planning and facilitating workshops for training and awareness and supporting projects to identify and manage risk;
  • Supporting document owners to develop, implement and periodically review enterprise documents;
  • Periodically reviewing the policy framework to ensure it remains fit-for-purpose and aligned to external requirements and best practice.

About you

To be successful in this role you have:

  • Demonstrated experience in a risk management, policy or governance related position;
  • Strong knowledge of policy frameworks and associated governance arrangements;
  • Demonstrated knowledge with Risk Management Frameworks and the ability identify risks and design pragmatic controls;
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to coordinate multiple, competing priorities across different business units at a national level;
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal coupled with strong attention to detail;
  • Strong relationship building skills and the ability to influence positive change when working with diverse stakeholders;
  • A dynamic, results driven attitude and embrace organisational change.
