Youth Opportunities is a proudly South Australian based for-purpose organisation that is swiftly growing and we need a superstar Business Operations Manager to help us grow our reach nationally while continuing to get the basics right.
About the role

We’re looking for an experienced, motivated and proactive Business Operations Manager to fill this newly created permanent role based at our Somerton Park office. Reporting to the Chief Executive you’ll work closely with our Management Accountant to deliver high quality operational support to your fellow superstars across Youth Opportunities including staff based regionally and potentially interstate.

You’ll be accountable for:

  • Effective oversight and management of business support services
  • Proficient executive assistance to the Chief Executive
  • Managing administration staff and volunteer workflows
  • Coordinating and control projects in line with organisational goals and project outcomes
  • Contributing to safety, leadership and culture

The role is flexible between 0.8-1.0 FTE (30.4 – 38 hr p/w) – we’d love someone full time but understand that a few less hours may be important to help you balance your life and work commitments so we don’t want that to hold you back from applying.

The person we are looking for:

  • Gets excited about doing the right thing and doing it well when it comes to how business operations can help us smash our strategic goals
  • Is willing and able to operate under limited direction and exercise managerial responsibility for business operational functions including administration, work health & safety, policy & procedure frameworks, compliance management, IT & records management, office accommodation, security and vehicle management
  • Has experience in managing an office environment to a distributed workforce
  • Can demonstrate past experience and excellence in managing administration staff and volunteers who provide support to multiple business units with often aligned but sometimes competing priorities
  • Is an excellent communicator with a positive approach coupled with highly developed interpersonal and assertive communication skills
  • Has advanced skills in time management and managing multiple priorities calmly for themselves and others
  • Has undertaken or is working towards tertiary qualification or further studies in administration, business management, facilities management, process improvement or a similar field
  • Displays a positive approach consistent with the Youth Opportunities ethos of personal leadership.
    We would also love it if you:
  • Are pretty tech savvy and have advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite, Adobe, Canva and various customer relationship management systems or databases
  • Can demonstrate experience in leading major workplace projects aligned to strategic goals
  • Have experience working in non-profit, education, training and/or social enterprise sectors
