About the Role

We are on the hunt for a vibrant Café Supervisor to join our ever-growing social enterprise team at The Little Social on a full time, 12-month contract. The Café Supervisor will be based at our café within The Alfred Hospital and work closely with our Social Enterprise Leader to be the central point of contact for the day-to-day oversight. 

Our ideal person will co-ordinate and inspire our team of café changemakers to provide and deliver the highest levels of customer and hospitality service at The Little Social. You will also supervise and provide hands-on mentoring, support and guidance to the team whilst taking the lead with stock management, rostering and building customer retention.

What you'll bring:

This is a unique role, and we need you to be able to demonstrate experience in the following areas:

  • 3+ years Hospitality and/or Barista experience
  • Experience in managing or coordinating service delivery in a hospitality setting
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Team-first approach
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, inclusive of all people and all abilities
  • Proven ability to meet targets
  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously

Compliance Requirements

  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (nice to have)

About Youth Projects 

We are an independent, registered charity providing front line support to young people and individuals experiencing disadvantage, unemployment, homelessness, alcohol and other drug issues. We also help those looking to re-engage with learning and employment. We recognise the complex and varying needs of the people we work with and go above and beyond, 365 days a year, to provide pathways out of poverty.

Last year, our highly skilled multi-disciplinary team provided 15,288 face-to-face contacts to people via The Living Room, supported 1,243 young people through our employment and training programs, and dispensed 1.3+ million safe injecting kits through our harm reduction programs. 

Our culture is casual yet professional and high energy. Our team is serious about their work but doesn’t take themselves too seriously. 

Salary

We’re a non-profit organisation that fills from a full cup but not a full pocket. In order to attract strong talent, we pay competitively and remunerate based on your skills and experience and are determined to make this the best job you'll ever have.

The Social Enterprise Café Supervisor is paid under the Restaurant Industry Award between $50-55k
